As I mentioned, working with virtual assistants helps bloggers to leverage their time and simply get more done. The power behind outsourcing and building the right virtual team for your online business cannot be matched, in my opinion.

My Story

Everything up to the end of 2009 was pretty standard for most entrepreneurs, like me. I was working 14-hour days, six days a week, spending very little time with my family and working ‘in’ my business, instead of ‘on’ it way too much. Sure, I loved my business and the focus of building it, but I was tired. In every possible way.
Going into 2010, I put a 1-year goal in place and started a blog, Virtual Business Lifestyle (now this blog!) to chart the journey. I was going to replace myself in my business as much as possible by the end of the year. In late December 2010, I achieved the goal. Not only that, but I launched another business in the middle of that year, Virtual Staff Finder.
I now work no more than 6-7 hours a day, and my work-week no longer includes Friday and get to spend lots of time with my wife and three awesome children.

“Chris is a master in his domain, I’ve read his blog from it’s inception and as a business owner myself, I’ve always taken great tips from it.”

The ‘New Business’ Moment

Another big change came along in 2010. It was the way I started running, marketing and growing my businesses.
I embraced the internet more than I ever thought I would. I started a blog and a podcast, as well as recording lots of online video content. I also started using social media with a focus on business, rather than just telling the world what I had for breakfast and threw myself into utilizing outsourcing more than ever (even though I’d been working with virtual assistants for over 5-years at the time!).
Everything changed. And I mean everything.
I started to see a massive influx of inquiries to my businesses. More than I had ever experienced before. I was getting asked to be interviewed by different podcasts and being featured in the press, across several mediums. More and more private consultation clients came on board and I began getting invitations to speak at events more frequently.
It was obvious that the world was changing the way they engaged. Not just in business. In every way.
I completely shifted my attitude (something that’s required!) and started reading like a madman. I read every ‘new’ business book I could get my hands on. Then I would hunt those authors down and interview them for my podcast!
Even though I was a very traditional business owner with a brick ‘n mortar attitude to growing businesses, here I am today with a whole new outlook on the way business needs to get down nowadays, and I love it.
So will you.
